Accessibility

Last updated: July 4, 2026

Authentica Global is committed to making its journalism available to the widest possible audience. We want our pages to be readable, navigable and usable for everyone, including readers who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, magnifiers, switch controls or keyboard-only navigation.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a working target. Accessibility is treated as part of our design and editorial process rather than an afterthought, and we review it as the site evolves.

What we do

  • Build pages with semantic, structured markup so headings, lists and landmarks are announced correctly.
  • Maintain readable type sizes, generous spacing and sufficient color contrast between text and background.
  • Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images and captions for visual content.
  • Support full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator and a logical tab order.
  • Use clear link text and consistent page structure so readers always know where they are.
  • Design responsively so content reflows on any device and remains usable when text is enlarged.

Known limitations

Some older or imported content may not yet meet the same standard as newer pages, and third-party material we link to is outside our control. Where we identify a barrier we cannot resolve immediately, we work to provide an accessible alternative.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is never finished. We continue to test our templates, refine our components and improve existing content, and we consider accessibility in new features before they are released.

Reporting a problem

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Authentica Global, we want to know so that we can address it. Please contact us through the Contact page, and where possible include the page address, a brief description of the problem, and the browser, device or assistive technology you were using.
